How to Use Magic Erasers

In general, magic erasers can “remove” or “clean” virtually anything! It’s such a great invention and they’re considered safe and non-toxic. They are made of melamine foam, which has been used for decades for insulation and soundproofing. Amazingly, they are also an effective abrasive cleaner! When the melamine resin cures into foam, it becomes almost as hard as glass and becomes similar to an ultra-fine sandpaper.

All it takes is a dab of water to moisten the Magic Eraser and off you go.

These little sponges are great at getting into the tiny cracks & crevices of virtually any surface! We're used all kinds of products and cleaning tactics to remove hand prints and grime off of walls and surfaces and have found that a Magic Eraser solved this issue the best! They will even remove stains from drink coasters (the ceramic ones, too!) and clean in the tiny nooks & crannies of the electric can opener.

Here is a great list of just a few of the things the Magic Eraser can help you with as you clean your home.

  • remove marks on walls (as mentioned above)

  • remove soap scum in the tub and shower

  • remove black scuff marks from baseboards (where the vacuum cleaner hits)

  • clean sticky/dusty range hood over the stove

Pro-Tip: Magic Erasers are easier to use if you cut them into four or five pieces. Not only do you get more use out of each eraser, it’s easier to get a grip on them, and to use them in small crevices.

And voila… they work just like “MAGIC”!
